The Dance Spot’s Ambassador Program

Overview:

TDS Ambassadors will be a small group of current students, ages 10-18, who stand out at the studio, not only through their skills in dance, but embody the TDS the vision, values and culture. This program will give students who are selected many special and unique opportunities only available to the Ambassadors, such as photoshoots, special guest instructor classes, round table meetings that will give students the opportunity to present different ideas they have for the studio and the opportunity to learn the internal workings of a dance studio, etc. Ambassadors demonstrate consistent class and event participation, initiative around the studio, and are shining representatives of our culture.

Mission Statement:

The TDS Ambassador program is designed to highlight, and give special opportunities to students who embody our core values and culture. Our goal is not only to pour into their development in dance, but also to equip these leaders with other important life, business, and leadership skills.

Description of Expectations/Responsibilities

  • Mandatory events- students must be able to commit at the time of offer acceptance
    • Quarterly group meetings 
    • Studio events- open houses, studio hosted events, Nutcracker/recital
    • Group events
  • Supporting TDS
    •  Promote TDS social media on Facebook and Instagram by sharing posts
    • Contribute to the programming and the culture of TDS by acting as an example 
    • Help at promotional events
    • Speak in a positive manner about the studio, whether onsite or elsewhere, and avoid gossip, slander, bullying, or any negative communication about TDS, the program, or other students (this includes all family members)
  • Time commitment
    • 1-2 hours a week for shift/assisting
    • Quarterly group meetings
    • Available for mandatory events (ex Trunk or Treat, The Nutcracker, Annual Spring Recital)
    • Choreograph and perform as a group in the annual Spring Recital
    • Assist with Spring Break or Summer Camps 
    • Available to help decorate the studio for special occasions
  • Ambassador mentality 
    • Conduct themselves with ethics, integrity, and high moral standards
    • Greet students/families as they enter the studio
    • Consistently attend enrolled classes, meet company requirements, and attend your weekly shift(s)
    • Show respect for your studio home by picking up after yourself and using resources responsibly, and encouraging others to do the same

Student Assistant Commitment Levels and track path:

L1 (Ages 10+)

  • Assisting D&D classes

L2 (Ages 12+)

  • Assisting D&D 
  • Assisting at the front desk (minimum 1 hr a week)
  • Minimum 2 years of Assisting to be qualified for 6+ classes

L3 (Ages 14+)

  • Leading a portion of the D&D class, under guidance of instructor
  • 1 on 1 teacher mentorship
  • Minimum 2 years of assisting

L4 (Ages 16+)

  • Leading a portion of 6+ class, under the guidance of instructor
  • 1 on 1 Teacher mentorship 
  • Solo lead D&D classes, if teacher emergency arises, such as a flat tire, until teacher arrives
  • Minimum 3 years assisting or teacher recommendation

L5 (Ages 17+/ Sr Year)

  • Solo lead D&D classes, if teacher emergency arises, such as a flat tire, until teacher arrives
  • Solo lead 6+ classes, if teacher emergency arises, such as a flat tire, until teacher arrives
  • 1 on 1 Teacher mentorship 
  • Minimum 3 years assisting or teacher recommendation

Post HS grad: Interview, potential employment and sub-list addition, if desired

Application Process:

Students must apply if interested in becoming a TDS Ambassador, please make sure to read the program requirements carefully before applying.

Applications will be due by July 1st. 

Applications will be reviewed by staff and instructors, and for those who are selected, acceptance emails will be sent out by July 5th, the nominee will then be able to accept or decline the offer by July 8th.
